Lazy Indian Mothers Behind Maggi Popularity: BJP MLA

While the entire country is in a state of mild shock with the ban of India's most favorite snack, Maggi, a BJP MLA shocked everyone when she said that lazy Indian mothers who feed their children are behind the company's popularity in India. What's more shocking is that the MLA is Usha Thakur, a female legislative from Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Supporting the states' ban on Maggi, the lady MLA said, "I think it is required to ban Maggi. The new generation mothers are lazy, hence feed their children Maggi." These comments naturally invited a series of protests online and even in the media and especially from the women's organisations and several women legislatives and spokespersons of various parties.

It is well known that several states in the country have called for a ban on the sale of Maggi Noodles after the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) found that the ingredients of the Maggi Noodles contain excess Monosodium Glutamate and lead levels. The central government is awaiting the final report from the FSSAI before it takes the final call on the ban.
